In the year when the Young Researchers of Serbia mark 50 years of work, the ECO SYSTEM support programme continues to connect and empower civil society organizations working across Serbia in the field of environmental protection.
Over the past five years, with the support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the programme has supported 55 projects and contributed to strengthening local initiatives, cooperation, and the capacities of organizations working on nature protection, biodiversity, and climate change.
A large number of applications to the call showed that there is a strong community of civil society organizations that aim to respond to numerous challenges in the field of environmental protection and contribute to improving its state.
Following a careful evaluation process and in strong competition, within the sixth cycle of the programme, support was awarded to 15 project proposals that will be implemented across Serbia. The projects will be implemented by the following organizations (listed in the order of received applications):
Pokret gorana Kikinde, Center for Environmental Improvement, Dendrosrbija, PROAKTIV, Lokalni odgovor Valjevo, Institute for Regional Development, Forum for Civil Action – FORCA, Center for Modern Skills, Volunteer Fire Department Kraljevo, UNEKOOP, Ekomar, Alternative for Safer Chemicals – ALHem, Eneca, Tim 42, and GM Optimist.
More information about the supported projects and activities is available at this link.
The ECO SYSTEM programme for civil society support in environmental protection is a continuation of the ECO SYSTEM project implemented by the Young Researchers of Serbia (MIS) from January 2020 to December 2024, with the support of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).
