ECO SYSTEM environmental reforms supporting programme
The programme objective is to enforce the reforms in the environmental sector in Serbia through the more active involvement of CSOs in the implementation of EU acquis and constant cooperation of stakeholders. It will be implemented from 2020 to 2024.
Specific objectives of the programme are following:
1) Improved state of the environment in Serbia, so as for the environmental indicators to be in line with EU standards.
2) Better planning and management of environmental protection with the permanent involvement of stakeholders.
3) Sustainable and efficient work of environmental CSOs with participative wide range support of citizens.
The main activities of the ECO SYSTEM programme will focus on establishment of the Oikos support which consists of a team responsible for CSOs capacity building (education, policy activities and networking), grants forwarding to environmental CSO networks and environmental protection campaign.
Environmental civil society organizations, institutions, negotiation team for Chapter 27, local municipalities and citizens.
- Improved knowledge of CSOs and stakeholders about the environmental policy.
- Improved dialogue and cooperation of institutions and CSOs on transposition and enforcement of environmental acquis in Serbia.
- Raised public awareness and citizens’ involvement in the reforms in the environmental sector.
- Increased visibility and influence of environmental CSOs.
- Preconditions set up for gender-sensitive planning in the environmental sector.

ECO SYSTEM programme shall be implemented with environmental CSO’s networks in Serbia.
