Together for the Environment

The objectives of Together for the Environment aimed at enhancing and strengthening the capacities of protected area managers, developing sustainable financing mechanisms for such areas, and fostering greater involvement of the business sector and citizens in environmental conservation, biodiversity protection, and clean air initiatives.

Relevant nature protection stakeholders, including protected area managers, civil society organizations (CSOs), citizens, the public sector, the private sector, media, and government authorities.

  • Improved management practices for protected areas;
  • Enhanced capacities and competencies of key nature protection stakeholders, including protected area managers;
  • Enabled sustainable biodiversity financing mechanisms;
  • Supported innovations in eco-business initiatives in the surroundings of protected areas;
  • Increased availability of information on public policies in the field of environmental protection.

Main Project Activities:

  • Analysis of protected area management processes;
  • Implementation of capacity-building programs for key nature protection stakeholders;
  • Analysis of the regulatory framework and financing mechanisms for protected areas;
  • Engagement of the business sector in nature conservation;
  • Monitoring and reporting on national environmental policies;

Expert, mentoring, and financial support for civil society organizations, media, and citizens.

The Belgrade Open School (BOŠ) is the project leader, and the partners are: Young Researchers of Serbia, the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia, the ENECA organization, The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and The Nature Conservancy (TNC).
